The Neshobe Current accepts press releases relevant to our readers. Submissions may be edited for content, style, and length, or may be summarized as needed. Submitting a press release does not guarantee publication. Our editorial team will decide what runs and how it appears.

Relevant to residents of Brandon, Pittsford, and surrounding areas
Accurate and verifiable
Clear and concise
Non-commercial and non-partisan
Respectful in tone
We expect primary content areas of the The Neshobe Current to include:
~Brandon/Pittsford area-specific news and happenings, as well as some broader regional/state news that affects the lives of area residents. We expect this to include local municipal and school updates, community initiatives and projects, and local (non-promotional) business news.
~Community life and activities, including coverage of community events, activities, and gatherings (including school performances and sports activities).
~Informational pieces on topics of broad community interest (e.g., local history, gardening, seasonal preparedness, local wildlife, home energy savings, etc.)
~Creative contributions from the community \-- visual or written creative works (i.e., student art, photography, poetry) that reflect community life, seasons, or shared experiences. Submissions of puzzles, games, and comics are also welcome. All creative work must be original. Please let us know if you would like credit for your work or to have it published anonymously.
~We welcome “In Memoriam” pieces that provide a short, respectful reflection on the individual’s life, personal qualities, and connection to the community. Reposted obituaries may also be published upon request.

Editing Process:
Volunteer editors review all submissions prior to publication. The Neshobe Current reserves the right to make minor edits for clarity, length, spelling, grammar, and consistency, according to AP style guidelines. Substantial edits may run by the author before publication to ensure facts.
Priority is given to time-sensitive and broadly relevant information. Submission does not guarantee publication. If we cannot use your article we will let you know.
Submissions may be held for publication at a later time at the discretion of our volunteer team in order to manage workflow and/or provide a balanced experience for readers.
If an error is identified and verified, a correction will be made online promptly and also posted in the next email newsletter.

Integrity and accuracy. In our reporting we seek a free exchange of information that is accurate, fair and thorough.
