Neshobe Current – FAQ

What is the Neshobe Current? It is an online platform started by a small group of Brandon and Pittsford residents in order to share local news and happenings in Brandon, Pittsford and surrounding towns.

How can I access the Neshobe Current?
Content will be posted on our website (neshobecurrent.beehiv.com) as it becomes available throughout the week.  Select the “Subscribe” tab on the website to receive a weekly digest email (at the end of the week) and/or follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Does the Neshobe Current plan to do any print publishing?
We do not at this point, due to the unsustainability of costs and labor involved.

Can community members contribute articles or photos to the Current?  Absolutely! We welcome contributions from any local residents, and especially encourage young people to take part. If you’re interested, please see our and fill out our Contributor Form.

How do I submit a news tip, press release, or community issue I’d like to see covered?
Please email us at [email protected] with the relevant information and include your legal name, address, phone and email.

Will the Neshobe Current host a calendar of events? We will not have our own calendar of events.  We will link to the new Town of Brandon calendar, which should be up and running soon, and are working to find a way to also link to information about events in Pittsford.

How is the Neshobe Current funded? Our content will be free, with no paywalls, and our business model will be one of sponsorship/ underwriting support. (If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities, please email us at [email protected].)  We will reach out to the community at large for financial support as needed.  Being “free” and online, our costs will be relatively minimal, but there are Web hosting and platform functionality costs.

How can I contribute monetarily to the Neshobe Current efforts? Stay tuned for more information.  We will be able to receive monetary donations after we are registered as a 501(c)(3), at which time donations will be tax-deductible.
