Alarm, Franklin Street
Brandon Police (BP) received a burglary alarm activation at the Otter Valley Union High School on Franklin Street.
Welfare Check, Grove Street
Officers were advised of a requested welfare check on Grove Street regarding a male that appeared to be sickly. Brandon Area Rescue Squad assisted, as no police response was necessary.
Suspicious Activity, Union Street
A complaint was made regarding someone syphoning off gas from two lawn mowers at a residence on Union Street.
March 21
Burglary, Wagner Road
A late reported residential burglary was made regarding a residence on Wagner Road that had been broken into.
March 20
Welfare Check, Church Street
A welfare check was requested on Church Street for an individual who did not show up for work. The subject's wife later was able to make contact with her husband and was able to determine that he was feeling under the weather and did not go into work that day.
TRO/FRO Service, Mulcahy Drive
Received two Intent To Pursue court orders for service. One of the orders was later served by the Bristol Police Dept.
Violation of Court Order, Deer Run Road
Received a complaint of a possible violation of a Relief From Abuse Order on Deer Run Road. Upon further investigation it was determined that no violation took place.
March 19
Alarm, Neshobe Circle
A burglary alarm activation was reported at the Neshobe Elementary School on Neshobe Circle.
Noise Disturbance, Conant Square
Received a call regarding a noise complaint on Conant Square. The complainant was advised that due to the time of the noise complaint and the Town of Brandon not having any specific noise ordinances to regulate the sound, no enforcement action could be taken.
Assist - Public, Carver Street
Brandon Police responded to a residence on Carver Street regarding a property dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend at the house.
Traffic Stop, Grove Street
Motor vehicle stop conducted on Grove Street at Mulcahy Drive for speeding and failure to care when passing a vehicle in traffic. A warning was issued to the operator.
Burglary, Union Street
An attempted burglary was reported at the Union Street Market on Union Street.
Assist - Public, Mulcahy Drive
A resident on Mulcahy Drive called to report that someone had broken into an apartment in his building. The responding officer checked the apartment and determined that the unit had been empty/unoccupied for some time and that the complaint regarding the premises appeared to be unfounded.
March 18
Violation of Court Order, Church Street
Received an anonymous call regarding a possible violation of a Relief From Abuse Order that occurred on Church Street.
Suspicious Activity, Franklin Street
Officers responded to the Otter Valley Union High School on Franklin Street to stand by, per request of the school, while an irate parent picked up their child who had been suspended from school.
March 17
Motor Vehicle Complaint, Franklin Street / High Street
Received a call regarding an erratic operator on Route 7 coming into the Town of Brandon from Leicester. All Brandon officers were tied up on an urgent call on Park Street and were not able to respond to check the area for the vehicle.
Suspicious Activity, Park Street
Received a call regarding a suspicious vehicle on Park Street parked in front of a residence.
Untimely Death, Park Street
Responded to the area of Park Street for a report of a suspicious male in a vehicle that was revving his engine in front of the house. The first responding officer approached the vehicle and was advised by a nearby party that the male in the truck had a handgun. Backup units from BP and the Vermont State Police (VSP) arrived on the scene and a stand off took place while officers evaluated the situation. Officers later approached the vehicle and were able to determine that the male had taken his own life inside of the vehicle using a handgun. BP conducted a death investigation into the circumstances surrounding what appeared to be a suicide.
Traffic Stop, Forest Dale Road / Town Farm Road
A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Country Club Road for improper driving due to roadway conditions. The operator was issued a warning.
VIN verification, Grove Street
Officers conducted a VIN Verification on a vehicle on Grove Street.
March 16
Crash - Property damage only, Forest Dale Road
Received a call concerning a hit and run motor vehicle crash on Forest Dale Road in which a truck struck a telephone pole. The VSP - Rutland initially responded to the scene, but BP later took over the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
Assault - Simple, Syndicate Road
Received a call regarding a late reported assault that occurred on Syndicate Road.
Citizen Dispute, Mulcahy Drive
Received a call for a citizen dispute on Mulcahy Drive. No Brandon officers were on duty, so the call for service was forwarded to the VSP for investigation.
Assist - Agency, Park Street
Officers assisted members of the Brandon Area Rescue Squad with a medical call on Park Street.
Fraud Barlow Avenue
Received a fraud complaint from a resident on Barlow Avenue regarding a puppy for sale.
