His dash was short but profound. He made the best of the time he had here, living with his free-spirit mindset, always up for anything because everything he did was an adventure.
We all are put here for a reason and purpose, and Ben was put on this earth to provide light, leave lasting impressions and smiles with anyone that crossed his path. His energy was a gravitational force, and he made himself known. Entering a room or simply being within your presence, he wasn’t a human meant to be in the shadows. Pretty much anything he touched or was affiliated with came with big efforts and magic. From being the soccer goalie, to being a guide at his job, he gave it his best naturally.
He was a friend to all, maybe some were distant or busy but that was ok, you were still his friend he was just busy living his best life.
Ben showed love in action, not always the words, because the action is what mattered most. You can always remember that and reflect the action.
If he loved a song you bet he was playing on replay until you could no longer handle one more beat.
His love for the outdoors and nature defined his soul, his natural element that filled his cup.
His strength, determination was always a given, even down to his final moments. If you’re ever struggling with strength, think of him as an inspiration.
Ben’s ray of light, upbeat, life of the party, holly-jolly attitude was felt all around.
He didn’t give up on people that crossed his path for the long haul or the short ride, regardless of distance or time you were a part of his life, thoughts and ultimately just meant to be a part of his dash.
Definition of living is exactly what he did, and he was going to make sure you were doing the same.
I’m grateful for the connection, Ben was my son’s best friend. I watched him as a young adolescent grow to a young man. Watched him grow through the hurdles of life, never letting a hurdle block his path. I was anxious to see what the future held for him. I envisioned him driving cross-country, sleeping out of his vehicle at the foothills of beautiful mountains, skiing the backcountry of the west, fishing the cleanest waters. Possibly making his home in Montana or Wyoming, in the woods of a beautiful peaceful land of snow, trees, hunting and fishing. Living within the simple means of what life is truly supposed to be about.
Instead he lives above us where the beauty is eternity, watching, looking down waiting for us to join that eternal beauty to be your guide.
Ben Adams is a light, a light we all need to be. Sing the songs, offer a helping hand, dance to the beat, be the friend, talk to the stranger, make your purpose your mission, smile to the world, don’t let the hurdles block your path, be the guide, find beauty of the outdoors and embrace the snow.
Be like Ben!
